Trivium are kicking off a new era. The GRAMMY-nominated Florida metal quartet — Matthew K. Heafy, Corey Beaulieu, Paolo Gregoletto, and drummer Alex Rüdinger — unleashed "Dead Inside of Me" today, the first taste of the band's still-unannounced eleventh studio album and the follow-up to 2021's In the Court of the Dragon.

The track, which premiered on SiriusXM's Liquid Metal, pairs modern thrash riffs and battering-ram rhythms with the melodic sensibility Trivium has built a career on. Bassist Paolo Gregoletto says the song grew out of a riff he'd been sitting on for five or six years: "A lot of the most fun song ideas come from blending two contrasting ideas together. Take a death metal riff and play it like a stadium rock song." He adds that the lyrics were loosely inspired by the Japanese concept of honne and tatemae — the gap between your true feelings and the face you show the world.

The band also dropped an official video for the track, directed by Pavel Trebukhin — a "creepy journey into the darkest depths to which the human psyche can plummet."

Trivium hit the road November 5 in St. Petersburg, FL, running through December 19 in Charlotte, NC, with support from In Flames, Orbit Culture, Fit for an Autopsy, and Frozen Soul.
