Long Island songwriter Travis McKeveny had a growing national profile — his co-write "1901: A Canyon Odyssey" landed on The Infamous Stringdusters' Grammy-winning Laws of Gravity — when he died unexpectedly in September 2021 at age 35, before finishing the album he considered his masterpiece.
Five years later, The Famous Doctor Scanlon Band, led by Travis's father Gerry McKeveny, has completed From Dublin to Duluth using his demos, live videos, and memories of conversations with him. The 11-song record moves through rock, folk, soul, and Americana without settling into any one lane. Closer "Open All Night" is built around lead vocals rescued from one of Travis's own demo takes — the only song on the album to feature his voice.
The album arrives October 3 via Paradiddle Records, alongside a release concert at the Boulton Center for the Arts in Bay Shore, New York, celebrating Travis's life and music.
Focus tracks: "Get Into Trouble," "Sloane," "Bittersweet Somethings," "Open All Night."
