The Temper Trap — the Australian indie icons behind the billion-streamed 'Sweet Disposition' — are back in a big way. They've shared new single 'These Arms' from their highly anticipated fourth studio album Sungazer, out July 10th, and announced they'll be supporting Muse on their massive North American tour this summer.
Vocalist Dougy Mandagi explains the song's journey:
"These Arms is a song about being a place someone can return to. Not a way out, not an answer, just something solid when everything else starts to slip. The demo was really chill and almost Radiohead-influenced... When we took it into the studio though, Styalz flipped it on its head and suddenly it became super groovy and bombastic."
Sungazer — produced by Styalz Fuego — veers from yearning intimacy to full-throttle catharsis, from guitar-riffing indie to heavy electronica, all anchored in Mandagi's expansive, instantly recognizable voice. After a four-year hiatus from touring and writing to rediscover their artistic identities, the band came back to the studio and immediately felt a new energy. Already cracking the top 30 on US alternative radio charts with earlier singles 'Giving Up Air,' 'Into The Wild,' 'Lucky Dimes,' and 'Sungazer.'
In addition to the Muse run, the band will appear at Outside Lands in San Francisco and Summerfest in Milwaukee.
