Los Angeles indie rock lifers the black watch have shared a new video for "Never You Mind," the second single from their upcoming 27th album, The Fuzzy End of the Lollipop, due October 2 via ATOM Records.

The Beatles-inspired track — built around an infectious piccolo trumpet hook — gets a suitably whimsical visual treatment, following director Ian Holmes's black cat Fifi through the streets of London and onto a festival stage. It's a callback to the album cover, which features four cats belonging to bandmate Rob Campanella. "I don't know what cats dream about, probably blissful dreams of cream and T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats," jokes frontman John Andrew Fredrick.

The Fuzzy End of the Lollipop marks Fredrick's 27th album under the black watch banner, following first single "Marie Bouzkova." He describes the goal as making a record "so 'of a piece' that... once it ends, you just have to spin it again." The band has drawn praise over the years from Mojo, Shindig!, and The Big Takeover.

the black watch is John Andrew Fredrick (guitar, vocals), Rob Campanella (guitar, bass), Chandler Fredrick (bass, vocals), and Andy Creighton (guitar, bass, drums, strings).
