The Afghan Whigs are back. The beloved alt-rock veterans just announced their new album Soft Control, due August 21, 2026 via Royal Cream/BMG, alongside lead single "Jungle Roux." 

Frontman Greg Dulli, never one to shy away from self-examination, reflects: "I've worked hard on my inner peace. I was an angry young man, and it fueled my art, ambition and my drive." Soft Control sounds like the product of that ongoing work — an album forged from reflection rather than rage, though with the Whigs there's always plenty of fire beneath the surface.

The band will be hitting the road with North American dates (with support from Night Moves) and European dates (with Ed Harcourt).
