After several years of gestation, New York avant-death metal outfit THÆTAS are back — and they've signed to Profound Lore Records for the release of their new LP The Irredeemable Age, out June 26th.
The four-piece draws on members from Reeking Aura, Asystole, Needlepusher, and Kyrios — names that carry serious weight in the death metal underground. The long-awaited follow-up to their 2020 Maggot Stomp debut Shrines To Absurdity, The Irredeemable Age sees THÆTAS both refining and intensifying their brutal death metal approach while deepening explorations into the bizarre, the avant-garde, and the uncharted.
Nine tracks in barely thirty minutes: a dynamic mosaic of obsessively dark, organic, off-kilter, and kinetic death metal. Mixed and mastered by Colin Marston (Krallice, Gorguts, Pyrrhon) with cover art by Jon Zig.
Lead single "For The Hope Devoid" is streaming now. "It's about a sinking feeling coming over more and more people that something has gone horribly wrong and the confusion they experience trying to figure out what it is and how they missed it all this time," says vocalist/bassist Cory Peterson.
Preorders are live now via Profound Lore. Keep your eyes on this one.
