Seattle-area blackened sludge trio Stricken (with members of Lair Of The Minotaur) have premiered a visualizer for "Dust From The Grave" via Decibel Magazine. The 12-minute track previews their second album, From Dark Dimensions An Unspeakable Presence Awakens, out November 6th on CD and digital via Horror Pain Gore Death Productions.
Drummer Chris Wozniak calls the song "a play on cosmic horror meeting the real, actual horror of dealing with radioactive pollution from our careless behaviors." The visualizer, by artist Tom Denney (who also did both album covers), includes imagery from the Hanford nuclear site in Eastern Washington. Decibel describes the track as "a 12-minute slab that takes listeners through STRICKEN's sludge-doom-post-blackened sound."
The album was recorded by the band, mixed by Wozniak and mastered by James Plotkin. The press release points fans of Neurosis, Inter Arma, Yob, Conan, Celtic Frost, Triptykon and High On Fire toward it. The "Darkness Impenetrable" video is also out. Regional tour dates are being planned.
