Skillet just marked one of the biggest milestones of its nearly 30-year career: 30 million RIAA-certified units across 21 titles, including 11 newly awarded certifications. Leading the pack is the band's signature hit "Monster," now certified 7x Platinum after surpassing 5 billion global streams.

Other new certifications include "Hero" (4x Platinum), "Awake and Alive" and "Feel Invincible" (3x Platinum each), "Not Gonna Die" and "Unleashed" (Platinum), and Gold certifications for "Falling Inside the Black," "Finish Line," "Rise," "Sick of It," and "Back From the Dead."

The news lands as the band gears up for the October 9 release of its new independent EP, After the Storm, produced by David Cowell (Sleep Theory) and recorded in frontman John Cooper's hometown of Memphis for the first time since 2003's Collide. "This EP is special to me," Cooper says. "It reignites what Skillet was always meant to be — which is music that helps lift people out of dark times. I wrote these songs because I needed to be lifted out of my darkness."

The EP's lead single "Lift Me Up" follows "Scream," which has already topped 5 million streams. Skillet takes the new music on the road this fall with Escape the Fate, kicking off Sept. 30 in Schenectady, NY. Tickets at Skillet.com.
