Chris Barnes and company deliver their 15th album alongside a cinematic new video dripping with old-school horror.

American death metal legends Six Feet Under are back with a new video for "Mister Blood And Guts," a highlight from their latest full-length Next To Die, out now via Metal Blade Records.

The track was conceived by guitarist Jack Owen as a love letter to the classic late-night horror host tradition. "When I was young, local TV stations always had a show where a creepy host would show campy cult movies," explains Owen. "This continues today with Svengoolie. 'Mister Blood And Guts' is about a film you might see on one of these shows — albeit with a much more violent plot. Our villain is a black-clad caped phantom with a top hat who attacks unsuspecting moviegoers, leaving the aisles filled with blood and the seats filled with heads!"

Next To Die represents a genuine creative high point for the band. Broken into two thematic halves — Death and Groove — the album sees vocalist Chris Barnes recording at the legendary Criteria Recording Studios in Miami, with production handled by Owen and Barnes, and mixing/mastering by Mark Lewis (MRL Studios, Nashville). Critics have taken notice: New Noise Magazine calls it "one of their strongest records to date," while Rock Hard Germany praises it as "the strongest entry in this trilogy," and Devolution Magazine declares it will give Six Feet Under "a touch of immortality."

The current lineup of Barnes, Owen, lead guitarist Ray Suhy, bassist Jeff Hughell, and drummer Marco Pitruzzella hits the road extensively this year — Europe in June (including Mystic Festival, Nova Rock, Graspop, Hellfest), a North American headliner in July–August with Kataklysm and Wormhole, and Latin America in October.
