Shannon Lay has shared "Horizons," the luminous new single from her upcoming album Past The Veil (out July 28th via All The Best), paired with a Bailey Salwey-directed video. "'Horizons' is a reminder to be authentic," Lay says. "We all have a unique perspective and that's what makes this whole experience so interesting... we need to be as much as we want to be and keep our head up high as we traverse uncertainty."

For a decade, Lay's seraphic voice and finger-picking have offered a kind of refuge — minimalist, delicate, tender. But Past The Veil flips that script: rather than building a safe cocoon, it rips the cocoon open, inviting listeners to move through discomfort instead of hiding from it. It's the sound of rebirth—standing up, joining together, maybe even dancing.

The album came together with LA engineer/producer Rob Shelton at Altamira Sound, with local musicians joining sessions written on the spot. Lead single "Past The Veil" already earned love from Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, FLOOD, and CLASH.
