Satanic Planet — the project uniting Satanic Temple co-founder Lucien Greaves, Dave Lombardo (Slayer, Misfits, Dead Cross), Justin Pearson (The Locust, Swing Kids, Deaf Club), and Luke Henshaw (Planet B) — have shared "Church Burning," a blistering new single from their upcoming album Dead Deities, out October 30 on Relapse Records.

The song references a real 2022 incident in which a man wearing a "GOD" t-shirt set fire to The Satanic Temple's headquarters, a legally recognized church, in Salem. "This is a song about the hypocrisy of religious violence and how our opposition destroy their own ethical credibility every time they have attacked us with arson, bombs, and violent assaults," says Greaves. "We will always rebuild. It is their own church they burn."

Dead Deities finds the band fully locked in as a unit, delivering what Greaves describes as a more personal record, closely aligned with The Satanic Temple's mission to "encourage benevolence and empathy, reject tyrannical authority, advocate practiced common sense, oppose injustice, and undertake noble pursuits." Expect tolling bells, blackened synth, diabolical noise interludes, and drums as heavy as a mountain throughout.
