Montreal-based death metal force SANAGA have burst onto the Canadian metal scene with their debut single, "The Godslayer's Oath" — mixed and mastered by Jeff Dagenais of Kataklysm. The track is out now on all major platforms.

Inspired by Death, Slayer, Amon Amarth, and Dark Tranquillity, SANAGA blend death metal fury with thrash energy and touches of black metal into a cohesive and lethal sound. "The Godslayer's Oath" introduces listeners to the band's myth-driven universe — the story of a void-born entity created for a single purpose: to slay gods and annihilate their realms. Whether read as anti-religious commentary or pure brutal fantasy, the track sets the stage for a bold, storytelling-focused project.

The single's artwork draws from the band's name — inspired by the Sanaga River in Cameroon, a symbol of life, death, and myth — featuring a dark, foreboding landscape and a towering god-slaying figure.

The band — Marc Verreault (vocals), Dominic Brillant (guitars), Patrick Plourde (guitars), Jean-Francois Durand (bass), and Frederic Giguere (drums) — are veterans of the Quebec metal scene, with roots in Meet The Mailman, Foxy Queen, Devil's Trill, and Warriors of the North.

SANAGA will make one of their first official live appearances at SONUM Fest 2026 in Quebec City on May 16, part of the three-day event running May 15–17 at Studio Sonum.
