P.O.D. have released "Outbreak," one of their heaviest songs yet, featuring Norma Jean vocalist Cory Brandan. It's out now on Mascot Records with a frantic zombie-themed video (the label notes some scenes may be disturbing).

Produced by Grammy winner Will Yip (Turnstile, Code Orange, Circa Survive), it's the band's first new original song since 2024's VERITAS. The Brandan collaboration grew out of their 2024 US tour with Norma Jean. Says Sonny Sandoval: "This is possibly one of the heaviest songs P.O.D. has ever written, so we wanted to showcase a guest vocalist who reflected that."

Guitarist Marcos Curiel says the band are avid fans of zombie games and movies, so a zombie-apocalypse song felt fitting. Sandoval adds that the demo's working title was "Outbreak," and the riff and warning sample gave it a frantic, doomsday feel. P.O.D. turn 35 in 2027.
