Naked Raygun, one of the most influential bands in Chicago punk history, will release "Live at Riot Fest" on November 6 via Loud Pizza Records — a 2xLP capturing the band's game-changing November 5, 2006 headlining set at the Congress Theater, the reunion show that brought them back after a 14-year absence and kicked off a second act that's still going nearly two decades later.
The band has shared a live version of "Rat Patrol" from the set ahead of the album's wide release.
Riot Fest founder Mike Petryshyn calls the band foundational to what the festival itself became: "Naked Raygun is inextricably woven into the fabric of this festival: the attitude, the humor, the sense of community, the distinctly Chicago obstinacy, and the conviction that you can create something entirely on your own terms."
Photographer Mike Vinikour, who shot the original show, calls it "the single most important band reunion in the history of the Chicago music scene." Rise Against's Joe Principe and Tiger Army's Nick 13 both cite the band as a formative, era-defining influence.
The 2xLP is pressed on Raygun Infra-Red vinyl and comes packaged with a tattoo flash sticker sheet, a numbered souvenir ticket stub, a VIP All Access pass postcard, and a 12-page zine of 2006 live photos and reunion-era stories from other bands.
Naked Raygun is Jeff Pezzati, Bill Stephens, Eric Spicer, and Pierre Kezdy. "Live at Riot Fest" was recorded November 5, 2006 by Jeff Poremba, and re-mixed/re-mastered by Dan Precision at Bombshelter.
"Live at Riot Fest" is out November 6 via Loud Pizza Records.
