Michelle Branch and Maren Morris have joined forces on a reimagined version of "Goodbye to You," out now via BMG as the second confirmed track from Branch's upcoming EP Everywhere and Back Again, due November 6.

Rather than simply revisiting the original, Branch and Morris turn the song into a true duet, trading verses that reframe its themes of change, independence, and knowing when to let go. "Beyond thrilled to be joining Maren on her beautiful rendition of Goodbye to You. Singing with her was a dream. Call me crazy but I prefer her version to the original," Branch said. Morris added: "Michelle was really encouraging to let me make it my own. I certainly wanted my own spin on it but to still honor the brilliance of her original recording."

The release comes with an official music video starring Branch, Morris, and Kristin Cavallari, recreating the iconic Laguna Beach prom scene that first introduced the song to MTV audiences in the early 2000s. Cavallari called the shoot "incredibly nostalgic and special," adding that Morris "brings such fresh energy while still capturing the spirit of the original."

Originally released on Branch's 2001 debut The Spirit Room, "Goodbye to You" helped make the album a three-million-selling breakthrough. Twenty-five years later, the song returns through Everywhere and Back Again, a project revisiting Branch's catalog with a rotating cast of collaborators — it kicked off this summer with a New Radicals reunion track featuring original songwriter Gregg Alexander.

The single arrives two days before Branch launches the Everywhere and Back Again Tour on September 27 in Seattle, a run that sold out nationwide within a week and prompted a newly added 2027 second leg.
