Tucson's WYRMHAVEN just got the stamp of approval that matters in heavy metal: a premiere on Decibel Magazine. The Arizona death metal outfit is sharing "Unrelenting Storms," the new single from their debut full-length Seasons Of Gloom, out May 29th.
This isn't your typical death metal bluster. Decibel describes it as "a more measured and doom-laden track that grinds rather than rips," and they're not wrong. WYRMHAVEN blend melodic death metal with progressive and metalcore elements, drawing connections to The Black Dahlia Murder's Gothenburg influence and the atmospheric weight of Gojira and Arsis.
Seasons Of Gloom was produced by Ryan Bram (Gatecreeper, Spirit Adrift, Terminal Nation), mixed and mastered by Zack Ohren (Machine Head, Fallujah, All Shall Perish), and features cover art by Adam Burke (Nightjar Illustrations). This is a debut that's been taken seriously at every step.
Vocalist Steve Naemark on "Unrelenting Storms": "It's about existential rot and decay — humanity leaving the world barren, abusing the very thing that made their existence possible. On a more personal level, the song is about helplessly watching everyone you love pass away."
They've been at this since 2018 and have finally found the record to launch them into wider consciousness. If you're into heavy, melodic, emotionally resonant death metal, Seasons Of Gloom belongs on your radar.
