Montreal singer-songwriter Libby Ember is 20 years old and already landing on Spotify Editorial playlists. Her new single "I'll Stand in the Doorway" is a dreamy, emotionally precise bedroom pop track about the specific agony of proximity after a breakup — walking the same streets, waiting for an encounter that hasn't happened yet.

The track is wrapped in electric guitars, layered synths, and drums that reflect the crowded, amplified feeling of sadness. "When I hear a sad song that's packed with elements, it really gets me right where it hurts," she says. The production came together with her father Eldad Tsabary, who has worked across her recent releases with an ear for texture and nuance.

Ember is a Concordia University music student building real momentum: two Spotify Editorial playlist placements, a win at the Overture With The Arts songwriting competition, campus radio support, and features in Montreal Guardian, EARMILK, The Spill Magazine, and Music is to Blame.

Her previous singles "Let Me Go" and "News at the Party" both earned Spotify Editorial support. With "I'll Stand in the Doorway," she's building on that foundation with her most immersive track yet.

"I'll stand in the doorway / You don't have to let me in / I just need to know that I'll see you again."

There's a reason people are paying attention to Libby Ember. This song is it.
