Jesse Jo Stark has announced her new album MUSE, arriving November 6, alongside the record's first single and video, "colorado."
Written during three snow-covered weeks in Aspen, Colorado alongside close friends and collaborators, MUSE finds Stark stripping back the cinematic darkness that's long defined her sound in favor of something rawer and more direct. "It was the time to speak without boundary," she says of the writing process. "Even though I felt broken, I also felt an immense amount of freedom. Each day felt so precious. Like I was dancing with a woman I had been hiding from. I was clear."
"colorado" sets the tone with sparse, melancholic guitars beneath an unvarnished, dry vocal that Stark left largely untouched in production. She describes the song as "the womb of the mountains," both a literal place and the emotional foundation the rest of the album was built from. The accompanying video extends that mood visually, leaning into isolation, romance, and stillness.
Stark, also known for her work at Chrome Hearts and her own clothing line DEADLY DOLL, has previously opened for Post Malone, Guns N' Roses, and Jane's Addiction, with festival stops at Lollapalooza and Coachella.
