Interview with The Wring

Hey, thank you for coming back for another interview!

Hello!  Always happy and grateful to talk about my music!!

What is new since the last interview?

Always stuff going on but the most important thing right now is a new album!  The Wring’s 4th album ‘Nemesis’ comes out on September 27, 2024.  It will be the 3rd release on Wormholedeath Records and I’m very excited to get it into people’s ears.

What has been inspiring you lately?

It’s easy to find interesting things in the world if you are in the right headspace.  I find inspiration in great literature and great works of music that may not seem obvious for a ‘metal’ band.  I’ve been trying to dig into jazz the last couple of years.  It’s not easy!  I am just in kindergarten but starting to speak the language a little bit.  This has informed Nemesis, but hopefully in my own style.  For lyrics, all I need to do is watch the news.  I generally write words from an angry place and it’s easy to find material in a world where dignity and decency have ceased to exist.

Do you have any new singles, videos, or albums out that you would like to tell me and your fans about?

The Nemesis album releases in September but in the meantime, the first single is out now.  The song is called ‘The Sword’ and is probably my most ‘metal’ song to date.  There is a very cool video to go along with it.  The new songs feature Reggie Hache on bass and vocals, Kyle Brian Abbott on drums, and me (Don Dewulf) on guitar.  As with previous albums, the music features a wide range of styles - metal, prog, hard rock and a bit of jazzy stuff.  Super fun and not too over-the-top.

Do you have anything else that you would like to talk about or promote?

The Wring has been around since 2015 or so and I think we’ve made some very interesting music.  If you are a fan of Opeth, Porcupine Tree and other bands in that sort of genre, check us out!

How can your fans best keep up to date with you, any socials you want people to check out?

Yes!  You can find everything here:
