Interview with SWEETBEAST
What has been inspiring you lately?
Lately, we've been inspired by a lot of different things, from personal experiences to the incredible energy we’ve been getting from live shows. One recent highlight was getting the opportunity to open for The Well— in Vancouver. The Well have been around for a decade and have a huge following. The place was packed, and their performance was nothing short of mesmerizing. Watching them play, we felt this surge of creative energy that really motivated us to keep pushing our sound forward. Also on the bill were our good friends Space Queen, who always put on an incredible show. Their 3-part female harmonies are a unique twist on the stoner/desert rock genre, and when combined with their powerful riffs, it creates this ethereal yet gritty sound that we can’t get enough of. Seeing them perform live again reminded us of the importance of collaboration and community in music, and it’s fueling our own drive to keep sharing our art with the world.
Do you have any new singles, videos, or albums out that you would like to tell me and your fans about?
Yes! Our debut album, Illusions, is being released in February and we couldn’t be more stoked to share it with everyone. It’s a deep dive into the heart of our sound—psychedelic, stoner rock with gritty fuzz and melodic grooves. The album was recorded live off the floor, capturing that raw, live energy that defines us. Each tune on the album has its own style, sound and unique vibe.
Do you have anything else that you would like to talk about or promote?
We’ve been working on some new projects that we're excited to share soon, including upcoming music videos and the possibility of a few special live shows. We also want to keep connecting with our fans on a deeper level, whether that’s through behind-the-scenes content or interactive events. Our passion for music goes beyond just the performances—we want to create an experience that fans can feel a part of. If you're a fan of what we’re doing, make sure to stay tuned for the next chapter!
