Interview with Stone Poets

What has been inspiring you lately?

We just released our new album HUM∀N and we’re really inspired with the positive reviews we’ve been getting.  We’re also really inspired by the opportunities that HUM∀N has been giving us.  Thank you for this interview!

Do you have any new singles, videos, or albums out that you would like to tell me and your fans about?

Yes, our 5th album HUM∀N dropped on January 31st 2024.

HUM∀N has 15 songs and 17 tracks, all recorded with award winning Producer/Engineer Sheldon Zaharko at Zed Productions, HippoSonic Studios, Monarch Studios and Grassy Knoll Studio. Joining us are Vancouver's most sought after musicians; Jerry Wong, Nick Haggar, Liam MacDonald, Jeremy Holmes, Jordan Aranas, Geeta Das, and Joe Alvaro.

Our 1st single from HUM∀N is "The Great Divide".  We went down to Nashville and wrote the song with iconic songwriters Daryl and LeeAnn Burgess.  We went into the write with the title and the idea that there is an evident divide among people in just about every facet of life and we felt a really strong desire to address this through song. One of the lines “why oh why, can't we see eye to eye” says it all and we invite people to “meet in the middle of the great divide".  LeeAnn sadly passed away shortly after the song was recorded, we are so thankful that she got to hear the song. She loved the way it turned out, vocals, production and especially the harmonies.

Do you have anything else that you would like to talk about or promote?

Yes, on our first albums we didn’t really make videos for our songs and Jeremy Gladstone from Sleeping Bag Studios in an interview asked us why not?  Good question right?  At that point we had released a couple of videos from our Smoke and Mirrors album, “Wait", and "Run Away".  So we got to work. For our new album HUM∀N we’ve already released 6 videos, The Great Divide, Human, Beauty of it All, Red River, A Poison Tree and Angels in the Sun.  Pamela Windeyer, friend and resident artist created the cover art for our album HUM∀N and she’s also created art for our videos "Red River", "Angels in the Sun" and we used her cover art from HUM∀N in our video “Human".  Raven Mohan, one of the world’s leading Aboriginal Artists, created the videos for "The Great Divide" video and "A Poison Tree".

Our next video “If I Could Just Have One” will star our band mascot, Stoaty, and will be filmed by Jer from Sleeping Bag Studios. You should check out our “SBS Live This Week" videos and other videos from the vault

Last but certainly not least, we’ve been working with Eric Alper and want to give him a huge shoutout for all his work getting the word out about HUM∀N and our single "The Great Divide".  He rocks!

How can your fans best keep up to date with you, any socials you want people to check out?
