Interview with SRAI
What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
Hey this is Abzy the Band's frontman talking and hard childhood is what got me into making music wanted to escape from the tough reality, and for the rest of the band it's just many bands inspired us to want to be musicians, and if I wasn't a musician I don't think that I have any idea of what would I be doing, to be honest
What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
Go for long walks, and while doing that I listen to a lot of music to seek inspiration and influence.
How long has your band been around?
Since January 2022
Where are you based and how did that influence your music?
Bases in KUWAIT Middle East and it inspired us a lot, especially with our song Alien, that song describes how many of us feel like outcasts not belonging to society just for choosing different things.
How did you come up with the name of your band and what does it mean to you?
The band name it's means the guiding light or the lantern and we used that word to be more traditional to our roots.
Tell me about your most memorable shows.
We haven't had any gigs yet but plan to start in 2024
What is your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you have not already?
We still haven't played live, but we are hoping to start anywhere soon, especially in our region then go out of it.
If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?
Rock am ring, bring me the horizon, sleep token, bad omens, and many more
What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into playing in a band and some advice that you would give to your younger self?
Be patient and keep pushing, don't let anyone put you down, and always know your worth
If you could go back in time and give yourself advice, what would it be?
Practice more and hard
Of your songs which one means the most to you and why?
Trauma talks about the inner battle that you go through alone, and it is what destroys and makes you stronger at the same time
Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most?
Our 4 singles are fun to play but our most requested is Alien, it's what people are relating to mostly
What is the creative process for the band, and what inspires you to write your music?
Usually, I start the structure and share it with boys to add their parts, and for the inspirations, it could be a song or things I go through and we always try to keep it relatable
What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?
Anything relatable, we're pretty much saying hey you are not the only one going through this we are with you in it that's pretty much the message
Do you ever have disagreements in your band, and how do you get past them?
Not really we all have such great chemistry going on
What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?
We are planning to release more music and music videos also we're planning to play gigs or maybe tour so stay tuned.
