Interview with Sons of Liberty

Hey, thank you for coming back for another interview!

It’s great to be back, thanks!

What is new since the last interview?

Almost everything we think! We released our third album ‘The Detail Is In The Devil’ at the start of the year, which has by far been our best received and most successful release to date. We recorded the album with the incredible Josiah J Manning (Producer/Mixer) at Momentum Studios Devon UK and we set out to go all out to make ‘forever music’ which we think we have achieved. This album is the first to feature our new front man, Russ Grimmett, on vocals so we’ve been nice and busy all year touring and promoting the album and releasing singles and videos. We have also had a great festival season with appearances at Maid of Stone, Call of the Wild, Alfold, Wildfire, Springfest, Road Rage and Station 18.  We are also performing at KKs Steel Mill Wolverhampton at the end of September at the New Wave of Classic Rock Livefest 3 event, which we’re very excited for. We also hooked up with our good friends from the US Preacher Stone again for a short run of UK shows with those guys.

What has been inspiring you lately?

We’re always writing new songs and having Russ on board has been quite inspiring for us all. We’re always inspired by our contemporaries and there have been some stellar performances and releases across the scene recently, which is great for a bit of encouragement and spurring on.

Do you have any new singles, videos, or albums out that you would like to tell me and your fans about?

We have just released ‘Tertulia Time’ as the fourth single from the new album so that’s worth checking out, as are all the new album songs. We have some great videos out for the singles too. We worked with the hugely talented Kris Barras on the first two single videos (‘Time To Fly’ and ‘Turn This Tide’) and Andy Pilkington (Very Metal Art) produced a great comic book animated video for the third single ‘Light The Fuse’.

Do you have anything else that you would like to talk about or promote?

Yes indeed! This year the band is celebrating ten years and we’ll be on the road with special guests Kit Trigg in October across the UK for ten shows. We’ll be coming to Swindon, Huddersfield, Llandudno, Southampton, Gravesend, Weston-super-Mare, Wolverhampton, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Kinross.  The Swindon show will actually be the 250th Sons show! We’re also looking forward to seeing everyone at Planet Rock Winter’s End in January…we love the Planet Rock events!

How can your fans best keep up to date with you, any socials you want people to check out?

The best places to keep up to date are the website (which has all our social media links and all our show links and other cool stuff: www.sonsoflibertyband.com  our Facebook page which is www.facebook.com/OfficialSonsofLiberty (or just search Sons of Liberty UK) or our linktree that links to everything https://linktr.ee/sonsoflibertyuk
