Interview with Sandveiss
Hey, thank you for coming back for another interview!Sandveiss : Hey, thank you for having us!
What is new since the last interview?
Sandveiss : A lot of really interesting things have happened since then. We recorded an album and performed with amazing bands. We even had the chance to play at the Planet Desert Rock Weekend in Las Vegas with legends like Fatso Jetson, Scorpion Child, and Brant Bjork. It's been a fun ride, and it's not over yet !
What has been inspiring you lately?Sandveiss : As musical inspiration, there are always the mighty ones like Black Sabbath, Kyuss, Alice in Chains, Voivod, Mastodon, and many others. Their musicality, craftsmanship, and tones are just incredible as always. They inspire us just as much today as they did when we started. Regarding the lyrics, I’d say that most of them respond to social and political issues, environmental concerns, and human tragedies. However, they also explore more personal or philosophical themes.
Do you have any new singles, videos, or albums out that you would like to tell me and your fans about?
Sandveiss : Of course! We just released three new singles: 'Standing In The Fire,' 'No Love Here,' and 'I'll Be Rising,' which will be featured on our upcoming album 'Standing In The Fire,' set to be available on October 11th under the Folivora label. Turn the volume up to broil and go listen to it on your favorite platforms!
Do you have anything else that you would like to talk about or promote?Sandveiss : For this album, we aimed for a more textured, airy, and lively sound, so we reached out to one of our favorite current mixers, Karl Daniel Lidén, to mix and master it. He has worked with bands like Dozer, Greenleaf, Lowrider, The Ocean Collective, and Katatonia, among others, and we felt he was the perfect fit to help us achieve the sound we wanted for this record. The guy is absolutely amazing. He listens to the people he works with and isn't afraid to bring his creative touch to the project. We were lucky and grateful to be able to work with him on 'Standing In The Fire,' and we highly recommend him to any bands looking for an incredibly perfect sound.
How can your fans best keep up to date with you, any socials you want people to check out?Sandveiss : As old-school as we are, we’re mainly active on Facebook, where most of the band’s updates and news are shared. You can also find us on Instagram and all digital platforms. Plus, don’t forget to check out our Bandcamp to discover 'Standing In The Fire' starting October 11. We hope you enjoy this new album as much as we enjoyed recording it!
