Interview with Nymphic

What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?

Music has been ingrained in us from the very beginning—it’s a part of who we are. We’ve always shared a profound passion for it, and honestly, we can’t imagine doing anything else. If we weren’t making music, we’d still find ourselves immersed in something creative, but it’s hard to envision a life without it.

What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?

When we’re not making music, we’re working our day jobs, which fuel our drive to make music our full-time reality. Every spare moment away from work is dedicated to the band, pouring all our energy and love into its growth. That contrast between work and passion pushes us harder, reminding us of what we’re striving for. It gives our creativity a sense of urgency and purpose

How long has your band been around?

Stix Warner founded NYMPHIC as an acoustic duo back in 2016, laying the foundation for what the project has become today. Over time, the band evolved as each member joined, bonding over a shared passion for music and contributing to NYMPHIC’s growth. Antonio G, Omar Perez, and, most recently, Adam Cutler (who joined at the end of 2024) brought their unique talents to the table, solidifying the lineup. Despite some changes over time, this dynamic mix of personalities and skills has shaped the band into the force it is today.

Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music?

We’re based in London, but our bassist hails from Italy, and our drummer is from Venezuela. Their diverse backgrounds have enriched our sound, introducing us to local bands and musical styles from their hometowns. This cultural exchange has inspired us deeply and continues to influence the evolution of our music

How did you come up with the name of your band and what does it mean to you?

Stix explains, *“The idea for the band name came from a word I first heard when I was 14. It struck me as the perfect way to describe the flower character I had created, now known as the NYMPHIC flower. The word resonated with me because it carried a sense of the mythical and feminine, emulating the juxtaposition of light and shadow that I wanted this flower character to represent. In essence, the band name reflects our commitment to exploring intricate themes and emotions, inviting listeners to find beauty in both the unexpected and the profound.”*

Tell me about your most memorable shows.

One of our proudest moments was reaching the finals of the Metal to the Masses London competition. While we didn’t win, the experience was transformative. It gave us a clearer understanding of ourselves as a live band, sharpened our stage presence, and provided invaluable insight into what truly resonates with our audience

What is your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you have not already?/ If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?

We’ve played many incredible grassroots venues, but The Dev in Camden holds a special place in our hearts. It’s iconic, not just for its history but for the amazing sense of community that gathers there. The staff make every night memorable, and the energy is always electric. As for dreams, we’d love to perform on the grand stages of festivals like Knotfest or Hellfest, sharing the lineup with idols like Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, Iron Maiden, and Landmvrks.

What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into playing in a band and some advice that you would give to your younger self?

To anyone starting out: immerse yourself in the community. Attend shows, network with like-minded musicians, and build relationships in your local scene—it’s a game-changer.

If you could go back in time and give yourselves advice, what would it be?

To our younger selves: stay strong when the road gets tough. Passion and persistence will guide you through, and things will fall into place if you keep going

Of your songs which one means the most to you and why?

Our upcoming EP holds a special place in our hearts. Its completion came with countless challenges, each of which we overcame together as a team. The process brought us closer and taught us invaluable lessons, making this release a true labor of love.

Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most?

Party at No. 10” is always a crowd favorite. It’s such a fun, high-energy song, and the audience never fails to get involved. We’re currently re-recording it for a new release, and we’re thrilled about how epic it’s shaping up to be.

What is the creative process for the band, and what inspires you to write your music?

We inspire each other as much as we’re inspired by the bands we admire. When one of us comes up with an idea, the excitement to share it and build on it as a group is unmatched. It’s a truly collaborative process, and that shared energy often leads to something magical.

What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?

Our lyrics often explore the struggles and complexities of the world, but we frame them through the lens of our own original narrative—the NYMPHIC saga. This story unfolds not only through our music but also in a companion comic series, creating a fully immersive, multi-layered experience for our audience.

Do you ever have disagreements in your band, and how do you get past them?

Disagreements happen, but they’re an important part of the creative process. They challenge us to see things from different perspectives and often lead to ideas that are better than the originals. As long as we listen to each other, disagreements become opportunities for growth.

What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?

We’re working on the next chapter! Our first trilogy continues with the second chapter, ‘Enemy’, which drops on 31.01.25 across all streaming platforms. The music video—picking up where our last release, ‘Peony’, left off—is also live on YouTube. On top of that, we’re dropping the second chapter of our comic series on Tapas.

What makes this even more exciting is that we’ve done it all ourselves—from the video to the comic—and we’re beyond proud of how it turned out. We can’t wait for people to experience it and dive deeper into the NYMPHIC universe.
