Interview with JewDaBest
What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
Music has always played a crucial role in my life. Even as I worked on other skills to make a living, my true passion was always to return to music. It's difficult for me to picture myself doing anything else, as music is the one constant source of joy and fulfillment for me.
What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
I have a passion for traveling and diving into various cultures. The rich diversity of our world fuels my creativity, enabling me to incorporate unique influences from different regions into my music. In the end, I aspire for these global inspirations in my work to bring people from all backgrounds together.
How long have you been making music?
Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a child, I was always singing, dancing, and writing songs. Professionally, I started DJing at 19 and then i got into producing music when I was 25.
Where are you based and how did that influence your music?
I currently live in Los Angeles, CA. My time in LA has significantly shaped my view of the music industry. Attending major events and experiencing the industry firsthand has provided me with valuable insights and changed the way I approach my craft and career.
Tell me about your most memorable shows, if you haven’t played live what is your vision for a live show?
While I’m not a performer, I’ve had amazing experiences DJing in the past. The energy and love from the crowd were truly unforgettable. When people approached the booth to express their appreciation and connect, it always inspired me to improve and reach even more listeners with my music.
What is your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you have not already?
I don’t have a particular favorite venue, but one of my dreams is to perform my music at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, alongside the artists I collaborate with. It’s a personal goal I’ve recently set for myself.
If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?
Chris Brown, Omah Lay, Arya Starr… and many more, to be honest!
What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into making music and some advice that you would give to your younger self?
To anyone starting out: never stop believing in yourself. Consistency is key, and above all, enjoy the process. even when things get tough. Success will make every challenge worthwhile.
To my younger self: trust the journey and stay focused. Everything falls into place when you work with passion and persistence.
Of your songs which one means the most to you and why?
My upcoming release, Breathe (set to drop on December 20th), is very close to my heart. It carries messages of free love and unity which are principles that I’m truly passionate about conveying through my music.
Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most?
Losin’ is definitely my favorite to play because it’s such a fun track, and the audience always responds enthusiastically to it.
What is your creative process, and what inspires you to write your music?
I don't stick to a specific creative process, every song unfolds in its own way. For me, music is more about conveying a vibe or emotion rather than focusing on technical details. When it comes to inspiration, it's the love and feedback from my audience that fuels my creativity. Music is all about connection, and their energy is what motivates me to keep going.
Do you have messages that you like to get across in your music? if so please tell me about them.
Yes, my music is all about love, peace, and unity. I aim to bring people together and spread positivity through every track.
Do you have any new singles, videos, or albums out that you would like to tell me and your fans about?
Yes! My new single, Breathe, will be released on December 20th at midnight and will be available on all streaming platforms. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!
What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?
While I don’t plan too far ahead, one of my long-term goals is to establish a record label and mentor young artists, helping them grow and thrive in the industry.
