Hey, thank you for coming back for another interview!

It’s my pleasure!

What is new since the last interview?

Well a lot has happened! I finally was able to complete and release the long awaited LP from the Conflux Collective, In the Wake of Saturn. In doing so, I spent the last 2 years perfecting my productions skills and teach myself how to play guitar and bass. I’m really proud of this new album. It’s the culmination of nearly a decade of research and hardships.

What has been inspiring you lately?

As always, I find inspiration in reading, nature, daily events and deep reflexion. For example, I just finished the entire Conan audiobook series, and that was pretty cool. I’ve been injured now for several months, so I can’t really do most of the things I normally do, especially drumming. So I’ve been concentrating on composing using software instrument and midi writing software, like Guitar Pro and Logic. I’ve been browsing quite a bit on Bandcamp and found a few bands I dig. My recovery is forcing me to spend a lot of time relaxing, so I spend a lot of time with my cats. I love their simplicity and their intuitive nature. I’m planning some sample packs to be released soon. So I got a couple of new microphones and have been preparing my drums for that. I think it’s going to sound real good. Besides all that, I’m in full promo mode for In the Wake of Saturn, so it’s a time for me were I’m very focused and practical. This album is part of a multi-year plan for me to elevate myself as a musician and a producer. So I have a whole bucket list of projects laid out ahead of me, you’ll certainly be surprised in the months and years to come!

Do you have any new singles, videos, or albums out that you would like to tell me and your fans about?

Yes we have two singles out as of the writing of this. Reincarnation, featuring Jeff Mott, which was premiered by Decibel magazine. The second one is a doozy kind of song called Devouring Light, with voice and lyrics by Jesse Brint, a long time veteran of the Vancouver scene and lead guitar/back vocals of Gross Misconduct. The album itself will be available everywhere on June 19th.

Do you have anything else that you would like to talk about or promote?

Yes, I want to take this opportunity to outline some of my contributors’ latest achievements:

Mallika’s band, Emasculator, has a new single out, I strongly recommend listening to it! They kick ass.

Our amazing mix engineer, Jeanne Artemis, has an experimental/electronic album out:

In addition to that, I strongly recommend her services for mixing / engineering. As Mike Disalvo recently put it in a private conversation “…she’s a miracle worker!” You can check out her stuff at:

Jeff’s latest thing is the 2021 release of "The Crimson Boughs and other short tales" from Hands of Despair.

Furthermore, Jeff is part of an upcoming Temps Fort production of Basileus, an Oratorio for choir, percussions, brass, guitars, double bass and 4 opera soloists, along with the Growler’s Choir, a metal vocalist-screamers choir.

Also check out his podcast Pouilleux Of Destruction every Tuesday night at 8pm EST on Youtube.

Jesse has a couple things in the works: “I’m really excited to have met Jeanne Artemis during this process of collaborating with Conflux”, he says, “and I have contributed vocals for an upcoming Coma Cluster Void release.”

His band, Gross Misconduct is working hard on their fourth album, with the majority of songwriting done at this point.

Max, Eric and I are working on the upcoming Derelict album, and are currently tracking guitars and voice.

How can your fans best keep up to date with you, any socials you want people to check out?
