The veil is thinning. Pacific Northwest black metal project HULDER has released "View From Nemeton," the lead single and music video from their forthcoming album Verbolgen, due August 7th via 20 Buck Spin (North America) and Season of Mist (world ex-North America).

Captured on analog mediums in the forests of the Pacific Northwest and woven together by filmmaker Liana Rakijian and HULDER themselves, the "View From Nemeton" video is as atmospheric and otherworldly as the music deserves. The band describes it as "a glimpse from the eye of the otherworld."

The track itself moves through ceremonial and spectral terrain, its lyrics evoking a sacred site where the living and dead converge: "In realm of the otherworld where undead and living shall meet / View from Nemeton as veil of soma is thinned." Layered riffing builds to sequences of hurdy-gurdy and keys — yes, hurdy-gurdy — that widen the piece into something genuinely cinematic and ancient-feeling.

Verbolgen marks a major step forward for HULDER, drawing in hurdy-gurdy from KELD (Majesties, Obsequiae, Celestiial) and drum contributions from VAPULA and VROLOK (Aeternus, Gorgoroth). The album runs 48 minutes across nine tracks and is available to pre-order now.
