heavens to betsy Unveil "my secret," Announce First Project Since 1994 and National Tour

Riot grrrl trailblazers heavens to betsy — the duo of Corin Tucker (Sleater-Kinney) and Tracy Sawyer (The Husbands, The Flying Tigers, The Lies) — are releasing their first project since 1994. baby's gone arrives October 16 via Kill Rock Stars, and the band has just shared its furious second single, "my secret."

The track's stop-start structure and Sawyer's pounding drums frame Tucker grappling with the aftermath of sexual assault — a continuation of the raw, confrontational songwriting that made the band's brief early-90s run so influential. It follows lead single "ain't never goin' back," which already drew coverage from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Stereogum, The Guardian, and more.

baby's gone is a 16-track collection built around a never-before-heard demo tape recorded in February 1992 by Bratmobile's Molly Neuman (who also contributes liner notes), plus the band's 1993 and 1994 7" recordings. It'll be available on two vinyl variants, CD, and cassette, with a limited-edition reissue of the original demo tape planned as well.

The reunion isn't just a nostalgia play — Tucker and Sawyer reconnected this summer for their first live show in over 30 years, and now they're headed out on a proper North American fall tour, including stops with Team Dresch, Calamity Jane, and a DJ set from Bratmobile's Allison Wolfe at a Girl Night show in Olympia.
