Fontaines D.C. (Grian Chatten, Carlos O'Connell, Conor Curley, Conor Deegan and Tom Coll) have released "Tongue," the second song from their fifth album, Dopamine Chamber, due October 16th via XL Recordings. The John Angus Stewart-directed video was shot in New York City.

The track follows first single "Marianne." Bassist Conor Deegan built the slouchy bass by manipulating tape speed, a technique associated with Prince, for a loose, pitched feel like sampled hip-hop bass. Carlos O'Connell ran Chatten's vocal through a sampler, bending its pitch until it sounds like a malicious extraterrestrial voice. Guitars screech, piano bellows, and strings gradually break apart the track's stoic facade.

Dopamine Chamber follows 2024's UK platinum-certified Romance. It was made with James Ford between London, the English countryside and Palermo, and features a collaboration with ROSALIA on "Where Is Gone?" Says Chatten: "The album itself is a dopamine chamber. You step inside and we test these different mind- or mood-altering pieces of music on you."

Tracklist: Six Shot Morning / Marianne / Mimesis / Happy For You / Demolition / Tongue / One Man / Where Is Gone? (with ROSALIA) / You Miss Me / Japan / Intimate

Live: Arena dates across Europe and the UK run Oct 21 - Nov 27, most sold out. 2027 brings Laneway Festival and Australian arena shows in February, then stadium and outdoor shows including Slane Castle (June 26-27), Cardiff (June 29), Newcastle (July 1), Heaton Park Manchester (July 3-4), Glasgow Green (July 6) and London Stadium (July 9).
