NYC art-rockers Ecce Shnak are back with "Vincent," the first single from their upcoming album Dandy Variances (Records, Man Records). Operatic trills collide with frantic rock energy in a high-decibel takedown of a mid-tier jerk — and there's a wild music video to match.

As frontman David Roush explains: "Vincent is an archetype of a smug, inconsiderate jerk most of us occasionally come across... Ultimately, the narrator resolves to overthrow Vincent's jerkface'itude in the final refrain: 'I'll destroy your equipment with my voice!'"

New York postpunk duo Frenchy and the Punk — Samantha Stephenson and Scott Helland (co-founder of Deep Wound, with Dinosaur Jr.'s J Mascis and Lou Barlow) — are releasing their powerful single "War on War" at a particularly hard moment: Samantha was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer, discovered after a routine check-up. Spring and Summer tour dates have been cancelled as she focuses on recovery.

The song carries even more weight now — a call for unity beyond borders, mixed and mastered by William Faith (The Bellwether Syndicate, Faith and the Muse).
