San Diego modern metal outfit Cascade Effect has signed an exclusive worldwide deal with Eclipse Records, and they're celebrating with the announcement of their debut full-length album, The Weight of Nothingness, due out January 8, 2027.
The 2024 Wacken Metal Battle USA winners blend deathcore, groove metal, melodic death metal, and nu-metal urgency into a sound the band draws comparisons to Slipknot, Gojira, Lamb of God, Parkway Drive, Machine Head, and Killswitch Engage. The thirteen-track record tackles mortality, isolation, regret, and the search for meaning, with key cuts like "Rogue Wave" doubling as commentary on AI's creep into human connection.
"We're absolutely stoked to be signing with Eclipse," says vocalist Dustin Keimig. "I have been in bands for a really long time, and I have seen Eclipse Records' name around the Metal scene all throughout my musical career." Guitarist Alec Peterson adds that the deal "feels less like a business deal and more like joining a family of people who genuinely love heavy music as much as we do."
The Weight of Nothingness was engineered and mixed by Matthew Denis (Nothing More, Greywind, Diamante) and mastered by Miro Kiiski (Hypocrisy, Pain, Beast in Black). Cascade Effect is Dustin Keimig (vocals), Seth Roscamp (drums), Bobby Fernandez (bass), Shaun Frude (guitar), and Alec Peterson (guitar).
