Forty years on and Bronski Beat still hit that perfect beat. London Records has announced the first-ever reissue of Truthdare Doubledare — the second studio album from UK synth legends Bronski Beat — with a definitive 40th Anniversary Edition arriving July 3 across digital, CD, 3CD, LP, and picture disc formats.
Fully remastered, the release unearths rare and previously unreleased studio sessions and live recordings — including BBC Radio One sessions — bringing over 35 tracks to collectors and fans who've been waiting decades for this. The crown jewel of the new content is a striking rework of the era-defining smash "Hit That Perfect Beat" from Doncaster-born DJ I. JORDAN, who injects the original with euphoric synth lines, complex arpeggios, and a driving vocal hook built for today's dance floors while honoring the song's legendary roots.
The album was born from an exciting and turbulent moment in Bronski Beat history. Following founding frontman Jimmy Somerville's departure, Steve Bronski and Larry Steinbachek brought in John Jøn Foster as lead vocalist — and the result was nothing short of a smash. "Hit That Perfect Beat" reached No. 3 in the UK charts, earned multiple Top of the Pops performances, and became a Hi-NRG classic across continental Europe.
Available Formats: 2CD Earbook (exclusive) | 2LP Gatefold Picture Vinyl (exclusive) | 2LP Splattered Vinyl | 2LP Gold Vinyl | 2LP Black Vinyl | 1CD Digipak | Digital
