Connecticut metal outfit BALMORA are not messing around. The band has just unleashed their new single "Moon Light Hysteria" — the third and arguably most intense preview of their debut album These Graven Halls. And if the tour schedule that follows is any indication, 2026 is going to be a massive year for these guys.
"'Moon Light Hysteria' is what the band refers to as the 'title track.' We wanted to simulate being trapped in a nightmarish cathedral or dungeon while an entity is hunting you," the band explains. "It also serves as a metaphor for life. We shan't soon leave these graven halls of our lives' suffering. The halls are you, the entity is only known to you."
These Graven Halls pushes the dynamics of metal, weaving metalcore and melodic black metal with a futuristic touch. Influences range from The Black Dahlia Murder and On Broken Wings to film scores like Requiem for a Dream and Silent Hill, and even composers like Philip Glass. The album was recorded at The Source in New Haven, CT with production and mixing handled in-house by band members Chaz Torok and Jay Torblaa.
The record features guest appearances from I Promised The World, Upon Stone, Empty Shell Casing, and Holder — proving that the Connecticut metal underground is more connected than you might think.
As for the tour schedule: buckle up. BALMORA will headline a full US run in June with Holder and Azshara, then join the Summer Slaughter tour with Hatebreed, Devourment, Incantation, Snuffed on Sight, and Face Yourself in July, followed by a west coast headline run in late July and August.
