Rising pop artist Avery Cochrane has released "Toy Gun," the lead single from her upcoming debut album, out now via Sonderview/S-Curve Records.
An upbeat, synth-pop reflection on faking bravery in a shaky relationship, Cochrane says the song is about "the freedom of leaving a relationship that was emotionally draining... acting 'toughened with a toy gun' means assuming the role of the brave and secure partner, despite being unsure of the relationship yourself." Teen Vogue has called her "your next favorite pop star," and her breakout hit "Shapeshifting on a Saturday Night" has topped 46 million views and landed a placement in Amazon's "Off Campus."
Cochrane also announced her first headlining run, the Weapons of Iridescence Tour, kicking off October 3 in Washington, DC, with 13 stops including New York, Chicago, and West Hollywood's Troubadour.
